ANECDOTES

Weather was not really good during this trek. It rained from the first day, when we hiked up to the Louvie mountain hut where we arrived soaked. The next day weather conditions where even worth so we decided to cancel this stage, walk back down to Fionnay and then go warm oursleves at the Saillon hot springs before driving to the Grande Dixence Dam.

The third day when we woke up it was snowing! As according to the weather forecast it was supposed to clear off for lunch and as we couldn’t spend all our days bathing in hot springs instead of hiking, we decided to go. But when we arrived at the laders of the Pas de Chèvre, it was still snowing and it stopped only when we started going down to Arolla on the other side of the pass. climbing the laders to get over the pass in such conditions was a bit tricky!

The sky eventually cleared off from the next day and we could start to enjoy Swiss landscapes, nice picnics and take naps around beautiful mountain lakes. But it lasted only 2 days. When we arrived in Zermatt it was cloudy again depriving us from the view on the Matterhorn.
