After climbing in Italy yesterday, today we stayed in Chamonix area to go climbing in the Aiguilles rouges range, near the Floria peak.
Originaly we were planning to climb a 10 pitch route, but the weather forecast was forecasting rain in the afternoon. We change our plan and chose to climb shorter routes. We started with “robin wood” (5.10a).
Back at the bottom, the sky was starting to get packed with clouds so we hesitated to start the “lampe d’Allardin” route (5.10b). We finally chose to go for it but as we reached the first pitch, clouds were getting darker and darker so we decided to take the safe option and belay down. Back to Chamonix, the clouds were gone… No matter, we’ll be back.
