It’s possible to find marine fossils in various places around Chamonix, in particular in the Désert de Platé. But this time I’m looking for the “famous” fern fossils, described by Michel DELAMETTE in his geology book “Le pays du Mont-Blanc” and which can be found near the Moëde hut (between the pointe noir de Pormenaz and the Fiz rocks above Servoz village).
