Tomorrow I’m flying back to Tōkyō. Yesterday was the last sunny day of the week so I went climbing one last time before leaving Chamonix. We went climbing to the Mottets slabs, at the end of the Mer de Glace (Sea of Ice) glacier. A great setting with glacier lakes under our feets and the Drus, the Grandes Jorasses, the Dent du Géant and some of the Aiguilles de Chamonix peaks above our heads with autumn colors on top of everything. Before starting the season, Chamonix Alpine Club organized for its members a training to review mountainnering techniques under the supervision of a professional guide.
